44 Km from the city
of Volos,
while travelling in north-east
direction of Magnesia
prefecture, at the
very edge of mountain Pelion
and in close distance from Aegean
sea, one of the not well-known but equivalently gorgeous
villages of Pelion is placed, the traditional village of
Keramidi.

In a picturesque
landscape, with the Aegean sea beneath it and Chalkidiki peninsula
arising deep in the horizon, village
Keramidi combines ideally the mountainous landscape (300 m.
altitude) with the blue of the sea (5 Km distance from it).
Three
successive squares built from local stone according to
traditional "Pelion-like" architecture dominate the
centre of the village :
- the
central square, or "Alonaki" according to the
elderly, with its towering planes and nearby shops and
tavernas,
- the
square of the church of St.George,
- the
square of the school, with its loose cypresses and
magnificent view of the deep blue Aegean sea.
The church
of St.George was all built
of stone with a stone-made roof too and "chagiati" all
around it; the year of its foundation was 1787.
